Für Elise

Bagatelle in A minor WoO 59

Great melody regardless of sound quality

Submitted by Carine Appleby. Story added around February 2008.

My first encounter with Fur Élise was when I was about nine years old. My Mum had bought me a small jewelry box in the shape of a piano (it wasn't a very big jewelry box) that, when you opened the lid of the piano, played the tune of Fur Élise. I loved the sound, and even though the sound quality was atrocious I fell in love with the song. I first learned to play it when I found my Keyboard had it embedded into it. My keyboard teaches you songs by lighting up the key that you are to press and I learnt it by that.
